I believe that this is the most UNDERRATED piece of music written by the Great Ludvig van Beethoven. It's got everything! The subtlety, intricacy, yes groovyness, joy, and bombast of the chorus all in one! Arguably his best!

Und immer wieder, seit Jahren, komme ich auf diese Aufführung zurück. Es gibt nichts vergleichbares. Alice, die Dirigentin, der Chor und das Orchester sind eins! Es gibt keine Solisten und keine Begleiter. Alle sind großartig und gleichwertig. Wenn das in der Musik möglich ist, ist das auch in der weiteren Gesellschaft möglich. Das gibt Hoffnung in diesen dunklen Zeiten.

이 공연은 2018년도에 있었던 것으로 보입니다. 그녀는 이미 이때부터 다발성 경화증으로 투병 중이었으며 본인의 피아노 인생이 끝날지도 모른다는 절박함이 있었을 것이고 (이 곡의 배경으로 여겨지는) 젊은 나이에 요절한 마르가리타 공주가 바로 자기 자신일지도 모른다는 생각에 그녀 자신을 곡에 감정이입했을 것이라고 생각합니다. 당시의 관중들은 그녀가 연주도중 눈물을 흘리는 진짜 이유를 몰랐겠지만 2019년 자신의 투병생활을 고백하고 나서 뒤늦게 이 당시에 흘린 눈물의 의미를 이제는 알게된 것 같습니다. 2024년까지 다행히 잘 버텨준 그녀에게 감사하며 앞으로도 좋은 연주를 들려줄 수 있기를 기대합니다.
